Overview
Plough shears, no dead zone
The plough shear mixer is a single shaft forced mixing machine. Several sets of plough shears are fitted on the main shaft in staggered, continuous positions, which avoids a mixing dead zone.
In operation the material moves with the continuous vortex and centrifugal force of the plough shears, so it scatters, disperses and mixes quickly. For fibre or damp, lumpy material a high speed chopper can be added.
Plough
Staggered plough shears on the main shaft throw material into a continuous vortex.
Chop
High speed choppers on the barrel side, at 45° downward, shear lumps and fibre.
Discharge
A pneumatic flat flap valve closes flush with the barrel, so no dead zone is left.

Flexible materials
Carbon steel, manganese steel, SS304, 316L and 321. Contact and non-contact parts can use different materials, and stainless surfaces can be sandblasted, wire drawn, polished or mirror polished.

Reliable drive
Choose general, explosion-proof, variable frequency or energy saving motors, with R, K or F series gearboxes, cycloidal, universal or planetary reducers.

Mixing unit
Plough heads are dismountable and wear treated. Choose ordinary, saw-toothed or shaver-shaped agitators, and cross blade or lotus blade choppers.

Discharge valve
The standard valve is a pneumatic flat flap valve. Manual, pneumatic or electric drive, or a spherical, plum-blossom, butterfly or rotary valve.

Jackets
Steam coil, honeycomb pressure or medium circulation jackets carry hot water, steam or oil for drying, cooling or keeping warm.
- 06
Spray system
A liquid filling system with atomizing nozzles can be fitted to the top cover, for water, acid or alkali liquid.

01How does a plough mixer work?
Plough shears on a single main shaft keep the material in a continuous vortex. It scatters, disperses and mixes quickly.
02Can it mix fibre or damp lumps?
Yes. High speed choppers set at 45° on the barrel side break up fibre and damp, lumpy material while the plough shears mix.
03What load coefficient should I use?
The load coefficient is 0.4 to 0.8.
04Can I add liquid?
Yes. A liquid filling system with atomizing spray nozzles can be installed on the top cover. A 50 L liquid tank is shown with the spray system.
05Can it heat or cool the batch?
Yes. A jacket carries steam, hot water or oil to dry, cool or keep warm.
